ENERGY SEEDS Natural seeds from the Amazon and the Caribbean and some from Asia (cobadongas, tagua nuts, arito, ojo de buey, mate, kukui nuts and others) add texture and bring an exotic flavour to our creations. The first pieces of jewellery were made from natural materials, such as seeds, bone, animal teeth, shell, wood, and stone. In ancient times, adornment was often made for people of high importance to show their status and, in many cases, they were buried with it. All seeds are harvested without harming the trees where they come from. All energy seeds store the sun’s energy in them from which we create organic eco friendly pieces.

One of our favorite seeds is tagua nuts, which is hard and heavy, and has a cream color; when polished, it is quite similar to true ivory (hence the name vegetable ivory - used a lot before for buttons ). Tagua nuts are sustainable and it comes from an exotic palm in remote, wild areas in the Amazon. it symbolizes humanity and the essence of a person. These seeds are very special, and when tinted with natural dyes in bright colors are unique.

COCONUTS The coconut palm is grown throughout the tropical world, and virtually every part of the coconut palm has some human use. The origins of this plant are the subject of controversy, with most authorities claiming it is native to South Asia (particularly the Ganges Delta), while others claim its origin is in North Western South America. Fossil records from New Zealand indicate that small, coconut-like plants grew there as long as 15 million years ago. Even older fossils have been uncovered in India and the oldest known so far in Bangladesh. Regardless of its origin, the coconut has spread across much of the tropics, probably aided in many cases by sea-faring peoples. The fruit is light and buoyant and presumably spread significant distances by marine currents.

Our pieces feature highly polished coconut cut in various shapes and sizes, and we just love our huge coconut cuffs, made of this organic material. Since the product is totally natural, it needs special treatment and care.
